Autumnal Art with Julie Sajous

Our Sketchbook Art and Yoga Retreat drew to a close at the end of October and I was truly sad to see all the guests leave. We had a ball! Lots of laughter, eating and learning. There were three ladies from England and two from Holland, all with varying levels of art knowledge and yoga backgrounds. Julie Sajous was the art tutor and Susanna of Yoga Bliss was teaching yoga.

Even though the weather played up and left us rushing about in swimmers and umbrellas -- our paintbrushes and sketchbooks at the ready -- Julie still managed to teach outside, some ladies made use of the pool and we were able to tour the farm to view the lemons and avocados. One guest even donned her shorts and ventured into the lemon grove to weed and helped pick our first bacon avocados of the season. And everyone got their own lemons fresh off the tree for the G&Ts.

The sketchbook retreat programme also allowed for a trip to Coin to wander along the alleyways and savour a few tapas, as well as a pop by the flea and organic farmers' market. We also managed a day trip to Malaga, again with plenty of eating and laughter thrown in. Santi, the best cook in Andalusia, tempted us with her various dishes, not least the chocolate cake, dubbed by one lady as 'better than sex.' 😂

It was a genuinely intimate, fun and warm retreat and I want to thank everyone who was a part of it and made it so special.

Julie and I are already planning the next 'Sketchbook' workshop for May 2019, this time to include a local fiesta. Once we have exact dates, they will be published here and on each of our respective social media.
