The olive harvest has begun!
Over the next few days we will pick all the green and black olives off the trees by hitting and shaking the branches until the fruit falls off. Nets beneath the trees ensure we don't lose any. It is hard work.
We go from tree to tree, placing the nets and hitting the trees, then scooping up the olives and placing them into crates. From there we go straight to the olive mill in the village of Guaro. This year the queues at the mill were so long that we have had to book milling time three weeks ahead.
